Preben Jón Pétursson

My name is Preben Jón Pétursson, and I am a trained dairy technologist from Dalum Technical School. I am married to Halla Björk Reynisdóttir, an air traffic controller, and together we have three grown daughters. I have spent most of my working life in management roles and have broad experience from the business sector.

I have always had a strong interest in public affairs, both locally and more broadly, with a particular focus on education in the widest sense of the word. I’m also an avid collector and have always found it unusually hard to throw things away—especially when it comes to tools of any kind.

I’m aiming to get my golf handicap below 20 this summer and to make much better use of my skis next winter (which, to be fair, doesn’t take much). I’m a people person who enjoys a good atmosphere, generally likes to have fun, and tends to be both imaginative and full of ideas—though I can sometimes act a bit too quickly.
