Andri Teitsson

I am a CEO at Orkusalan and have served as a Town Councillor for L-listinn for most of the past eight years. I am particularly proud of the work of the municipal council during this time, including the construction of new preschools such as Klappir and Hagasteinn, as well as the extensive renovation of Glerárskóli and Lundarskóli. I would also highlight numerous projects in the field of sports, most recently the major development of the KA area and the installation of an artificial pitch at the Þór area. The next major project ahead is a multi-purpose sports hall at the Þór area. Our sports facilities have proven to be a cornerstone of youth activities, public health, and tourism. I want to continue making our town even more family-friendly by offering diverse solutions for families with children and bridging the gap between parental leave and preschool. I also want municipal institutions to make a focused effort to offer more part-time positions so that as many people as possible can find their place in the labour market.
